In February 2006 a team from the Ringers travelled to London after being invited to take on the BBC's 'EGGHEADS'.

Following a very pleasant evening at the Holiday Inn in Ealing we were picked up and transported to the famous BBC studios in Shepherds Bush where, following a traumatic time watching Lisa & Eddie having their make-up applied, we were introduced to the opposition and the host Dermot Murnaghan (or something like that!). We were amazed to be told that we were to play for £38,000!!! The quiz took around 2 hours to record and to cut a long story short, we got to the last question. Dermot told us that he only had one question left and that this hadn't happened before, "if you get this right I will have to go and find some more questions!". Always keen to oblige we got it wrong!

Final Question: Who wrote the play Peer Gynt?

Although we came home empty handed we had a fantastic time and thanks to everyone involved.

John gets badged up.

Trying the seats for size.

The secret is out.... inside the isolation room!

p.s. the answer to the above question was obviously Henrik Ibsen.
